In a piece of news that might excite all of you devoted fans of God's Own Country, last year's best movie, its star Josh O'Connor is apparently going to play young Prince Charles in the third season of Netflix' popular series THE CROWN! The Durrells star will play the prince in his early 20s in the season that will see most of the cast replaced with older actors since it will be covering the mid 1960s all the way to mid 70s! Olivia Colman will play older Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies will be her husband Prince Philip, while Helena Bonham Carter, who was in the run for the lead role herself, will play her sister Princess Margaret. Jason Watkins is also joining the cast as British Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

In other casting news from Cannes, Screen Daily reports that our favourite Russian star Danila Kozlovsky and Vicky Krieps will star in the adaptation of the international best seller PASSION SIMPLE by Annie Ernaux which has been translated into 20 languages. Krieps from Daniel Day Lewis' Phantom Thread, will play a 42 year old lecturer who has no illusions about the long term future of her relationship with her younger, married lover. The diplomat, a flashy figure with a penchant for big cars and Saint Laurent suits, does not make any promises either. Nonetheless, she becomes obsessed logging her every move and sensation as she awaits his return. Until one day, he vanishes, posted back home, without letting her know.
